Match Report

'Sporting' opened the scoring after only 4 minutes after Buckland failed to clear a corner. On 17 minutes the award of a penalty for hand ball gave Buckland the chance to level, but only after the spot kick was saved and taken for a second time due to encroachment. Amazingly the next 5 minutes saw 'Sporting' concede goals from Simon Adams and Gary Tanton to fall 3-1 behind. Before half time the scores were level, as an audacious 40yd lobb dropped over the bemused keeper and the goal of the season, a superb strike from 25yds brought the away side back into the game.

The second half saw 'Sporting' score two goals midway through the half before Simon Adams pulled one back with 15 minutes to play. Only minutes later the same player was brought down inside the box from a tackle from behind with a clear run on goal. The referee awarded a free kick just outside the box, rather than a penalty.

The resulting free kick was cleared up field only for a Buckland defender to pull the shirt of an attacker inside the box at the other end for the award of a penalty.

Man of the Match: Darren Moore (defender)
