Match Report
The visitors should have taken the lead from the penalty spot after only 10 minutes, but for a superb save by keeper John Adams. This lifted his team-mates who easily held their own against the unbeaten leaders of Division Two and should have opened the scoring midway through the half. Arran Brooks found Martin Rawle unmarked on the far post, with the goal at his mercy, but somehow missed from 6yds. The second period was only into the 6th minute when the home side took the lead as Martin Rawle neatly knocked the ball past the keeper from 15yds. Within a short period the same player struck a great shot from 12yds that rifled into the net to completely stun the opposition. Wrey threw players forward and eventually scored midway through the half as an initial shot came back off the cross bar and hit a defender in the face before deflecting into the net. Buckland defended superbly for long periods, but occasionally counter-attacked quickly. One such break finished with Martin Rawle striking a shot that cannoned off the cross bar from 18yds. With the game running into added time at the end of the game, Buckland were still leading, but unbelievably Wrey Arms turned certain defeat into victory by scoring twice in the extra 6 minutes of additional time. The Buckland players and supporters were completely stunned.
