Match Report

The match between the two basement teams did not start well for Buckland as the team performed very poorly in the opening 30 minutes. The tension was settled after half an hour as Andrew Large raced clear of the defence and calmly slotted the ball under the advancing keeper. The opposition pulled themselves back into the game 15 minutes into the second period as a defensive mistake just inside the Buckland half was punished as a visiting striker scored after a 25yd run. Within minutes Buckland were ahead once again as a cross-field ball was met by Arran Brooks who smashed the ball into the net from 15yds. Once again Buckland defended superbly as the Admirals pressed forward. Several crunching tackles by the opposition during the closing stages left at least three home players with bad injuries, before the referee eventually blew the final whistle. A well deserved victory and three valuable points.
