Match Report
Park Utd had all the possession during the opening 25 minutes but were not direct enough in front of goal. A glorious chance went begging after 15 minutes as the ball was passed across the Buckland 6yd box to a striker on the far side who somehow put his shot over the bar from 4yds with the goal at his mercy. Buckland took heart from their opponents lack of finishing and mounted several counter attacks which possed problems to the visitors defence. With 5 minutes to the break a corner kick was neatly guided into the net by a Park striker to open the scoring. Buckland hit back within minutes as a good pass found Simon Odell on the far side of the defence, his shot from 15yds found the back of the net to level the scores on the stroke of half time.
Five minutes into the second period Simon Odell crossed low into the Park box and Jake Lomax added the finishing touch to put Buckland ahead. Park Utd seemed stunned, and subsequent Buckland attacks could easily have seen the home side increase their lead. Simon Odell hitting a shot against the crossbar from 6yds. As the half reached the midway point, Park levelled the scores as a period of intense pressure ended with a shot from close range that was initially well saved by the keeper, but the rebound was smashed into the net. Buckland could so easily have capitulated after this strike, but dug in superbly. Although the opposition strikers threw everything at the home side a solid defence held firm, as good displays from defenders Martin Tucker & Kevan Parker kept Park at bay.
