Match Report

Both teams were delighted that the referee allowed the match to proceed after a delayed start due to the water-logged pitch.

Merton had the early opportunities, but good goalkeeping by Bucklands veteran keeper kept the home side at bay. A difficult low cross into the box from Simon Leach was sliced into his own net by a Merton defender to put Buckland ahead midway through the opening half. The home side equalised 15 minutes into the second half, but were unable to claim the winning goal as Bucklands rearguard defended superbly late into the game.
