Match Report

Buckland held the upper hand for the opening 20 minutes and should have been awarded a penalty as Simon Adams was brought down in a box, but the referee thought otherwise. It was Anchor who eventually opened the scoring, against the run of play. A speculative shot from just outside the box flew into the top corner of the net on 25 minutes. The home side hit back within minutes as Andrew Large had a simple tap-in following good work from Simon Adams & Ben Dooley. Joe Brewer, with his first goal for the Club, added a second 5 minutes later, again set up by Simon Adams.

Anchor pulled level within 3 minutes of the start of the second period as poor marking in Bucklands defence allowed an opposition striker time and space to smash home from close range. Midway through the half substitute Martin Rawle drilled a shot from 20yds that rifled into the net to put the home side ahead once again. Anchor throw players forward during the final 15 minutes, but a host of chances went begging as Buckland did well to hang on to their slender lead.

Man of the Match: Martin Tucker (defender)
