Match Report

Buckland looked rusty during the opening 20 minutes as several weeks of inactivity certainly showed. During this period Equalisers opened the scoring with a tremendous volley from 12yds that rifled into the top corner of the net. Ten minutes before the break the visitors levelled as Frank Rawle, playing from the start for the first time, smashed home following a corner. Minutes later the home side should have regained the lead as the Buckland keeper misjudged a high bouncing ball and an opposition striker headed goalwards, only for his follow up shot to rebound off a post and run along the goal line. Somehow, Buckland's Jake Lomax managed to clear under pressure from the home team striker.

Midway through the second period Martin Rawle pounced on a loose ball in the home penalty box and slotted a shot into the corner of the net to edge Buckland ahead. With substitutes Ben Dooley and teenager Daniel Vanstone bringing fresh legs into the game, Buckland seemed to be edging towards victory. The final 15 minutes saw Equalisers throw everything at the visitors goal, but Buckland's rearguard held firm to gain the 3 points in a hard fought game.

Man of the Match: Jake Lomax (midfield)
