Match Report

A goalkeeper's gaffe by John Adams gifted Wrey Arms a goal start within the opening 5 minutes. A direct free kick slipped through the keepers hands & legs to give his team an uphill task from the outset. Within 10 minutes Buckland were level after another direct free kick was dispatched by Simon Leach from 18yds into the corner of the net. Buckland then proceeded to control the game for long periods with possibly their best football for some time. The midfield trio of Simon Adams, Jake Lomax & Ben Dooley were running the show. Unfortunately when thing's aren't going your way, events seem to conspire against you. An unspectacular cross into the box just before half time was only partially cleared by the defence only to be smacked back into the top of the net from 10yds by a Wrey Arms striker.

The second period was evenly contested until the home side were awarded a penalty for a rash challenge with 20 minutes remaining. Buckland battled on and were rewarded with 10 minutes to play as a well delivered corner from Ed Jonckheere caused confusion in the Wrey' box and Ben Dooley smashed the loose ball into the net. A couple of chances came Buckland's way late on but two good saves by the home keeper secured a narrow victory for the Wrey Arms.

Man of the Match: Ben Dooley (midfield)
