Match Report

Buckland found life difficult in their first game in division one, with a very strong Torrington line-up holding the upper hand for most of the match. Buckland, still rebuilding after last seasons exodus of players had to bring keeper John Adams out of retirement and although he was beaten on five occasions still managed to pull off a string of fine saves, including a penalty save 5 minutes from time. With the game at the 25 minute mark, Torrington were leading 2-0 when Simon Adams neatly slotted home following a good pass from new boy Brynn Waldon. Unfortunately the home side added a third almost immediately.

Buckland performed much better during the second half, with at least 3 good shots flying narrowly wide. Torrie added two more strikes during the second half to wrap up a convincing win.

Man of the Match: John Adams (goalkeeper)
