Match Report
Buckland played the opening 15 minutes in a no nonsense fashion as the team tackled hard for every ball. The energy and passing were top notch, but the final shot on goal was slightly below par. The Torridgeside youngsters took the lead midway through the first half following a few minutes of poor defending by Buckland. A penalty kick awarded for a foul on Vinny Bott was smashed into the net by defender Steve Tucker on the half hour to bring the scores level. The defining point of the second half was a penalty kick awarded to the home side after 20 minutes. The original spot kick was dispatched into the net, but the referee ordered a retake due to a couple of Torridgeside players encroaching into the area. The resulting second attempt was superbly saved by keeper Danny Barnes. The game turned subsequent to this point as within 5 minutes Buckland were ahead. A fine ball across the area by substitute Simon Leach was met by Matt Horn who placed his shot into the far corner of the net from 15yds. The result was sealed by Simon Leach who hit a third goal, with a shot from 12yds five minutes from time.
