Match Report

The opening half finished scoreless, but only thanks to the efforts of the young Bratton keeper. On several occasions he thwarted the efforts of the Buckland strikers, especially Vinny Bott, who most have had at least 3 or 4 'one on ones' with the keeper.

The second half saw Buckland take the lead on 10 minutes as Simon Adams set up Vinny Bott for a simple tap in from 8yds. Amasingly within two minutes Bratton Fleming were level following a header at the back post from a completely unmarked player. To make matters worse for the home side, the visitors took the lead five minutes later following a deflected shot from 18yds. The final 25 minutes were dominated by Buckland who tore the Bratton defence apart. The pace of Simon Adams once again set up Vinny Bott, who scored with a good shot from 12yds to level the scores. Simon Adams subsequently scored two sublime goals to record victory for home side. Firstly he picked up a pass from midfield controlled the ball just inside the box and in the same movement hit a low drive into the far corner of the net. Ten minutes later a cross into the box was instantly controlled and lobbed perfectly over the keeper from 15yds. Late in the game the Bratton Fleming keeper twice saved well, as Buckland threatened to run riot with periods of great football. After the previous two league defeats this game puts the promotion hopes of Buckland back on track.

Man of the Match: Jake Lomax (striker) & Kevan Parker (defender)
