Match Report
Due to Pilton's pitch being unavailable the game was switched to Buckland in an attempt to complete the fixture.
The gale force wind and bitter cold gave both teams problems through-out the match, but it was Buckland with the wind at their backs in the first half, who opened the scoring as Simon Adams powered a shot past the keeper after 20 minutes. Several good opportunities came Buckland’s way, but Pilton held firm to reach half time only one goal in arrears. The visitors came out strongly in the second half, and after being awarded a penalty on 20 minutes, then doubled their tally 10 minutes later as a long wind assisted clearance up-field from the keeper was neatly placed over the advancing Buckland keeper from 25yds. With substitute Joe Wolfe combining well with Simon Adams in attack, Buckland soon found themselves level. A powerful run from striker Simon Adams 10 minutes from time saw the player brush aside the attentions of three Pilton defenders before flicking the ball over the advancing keeper to bring Buckland level. A late sending off of a Pilton player for abusive language to the linesman was the only low spot of a generally sporting and entertaining game.
