Match Report

Buckland looked hesitant during the initial 15 minutes, but following a slight team adjustment the side began to perform well. Torrington were pushed onto the back foot for long periods as Vinny Bott and Kevan Parker dominated the midfield area.

A good passing move with 25 minutes played set up Simon Leach who rifled a shot into the top of the net from 16yds. Buckland held control of the game and almost extended their lead 10 minutes before the break, but Vinny Botts firm header was well saved by the home keeper.

A stern talk by the Manager at half time warning of a tough opening ten minutes in the second period appeared to have fallen on deaf ears. Within the initial 3 minutes the home side had completely turned the game upside down by scoring two quick goals. The stunned Buckland team were shell shocked for the next 20 minutes and struggled to contain a rampant Torrington outfit. A third goal 12 minutes from time sealed victory for the home side. Only a couple of headers from Vinny Bott and a late Simon Adams attempt amounted to Bucklands reply during a dire final period.

Man of the Match: Kevan Parker (defender)& Ed Jonckheere (midfield)
