Match Report

Buckland were without five regulars for this fixture and only the recent signing of teenagers Joe Wolfe and Lewis Burson gave the team a full compliment of players. Youngster Joe Wolfe was given an immediate debut and actually scored after 15 minutes, but saw his goal rather dubiously disallowed for offside. To the players’ credit he did not drop his head and minutes later hit the crossbar with a close range shot. The old veteran goalkeeper, John Adams had to don his gloves once again, with normal keeper Danny Barnes reverting to an outfield position. Buckland held the greater possession and created the better scoring opportunities during the opening period, but were unable to record the vital goal. The game seemed to be heading for draw in the final period until 15 minutes from time when an Anchor midfielder scored with powerful header following a corner kick. Youngster Lewis Burson was given his debut late in the game, but Buckland were once again unable to find the goal to level the scores.

Man of the Match: Vinny Bott (midfield)
