Match Report
Buckland dominated from start to finish, with goal scoring opportunities being created on a regular basis. Jake Lomax put the home side on their way after only 3 minutes with a simple tap-in, following good work from Leon Appleton. Midway through the half Vinny Bott headed home following a free kick and only minutes later Ed Jonckheere almost put Buckland further ahead. His shot from 8yds was directed straight at the keeper after a great cross from Jake Lomax.
The second half continued as the first with Buckland holding the upper hand. The midfield duo of Vinny Bott and Matt Cann were dominating play, which meant their colleagues could concentrate on pushing forward. Although it was not until 20 minutes into the half that the home side managed to increase their lead. Leon Appleton scoring with a shot to the far post from 12yds.
The best news for Buckland was the return from injury of top striker Simon Adams, who had been out of action for almost 4 months. He came into the action 15 minutes from time and soon showed what his colleagues had been missing as he scored following a 25yd run and neat shot past the keeper. Buckland and Adams in particular, set up several good scoring chances during the final minutes. A fifth goal should have been recorded in the last minute, but a shot from close range by Vinny Bott went straight to the keeper.
