Match Report

Buckland's best football of the season so far was no match for the visiting Clovelly team. Right from the start Buckland's neat passing game caused the visitors problems. Simon Adams' turn and shot after 15 minutes opened the scoring and 5 minutes later a cross cum shot by Vinny Bott drifted over the keeper into the far corner. Steve Bennett scored direct from a 25yd free kick just before the break to put Buckland well in control. Stand in keeper, Alan Day, was virtually a spectator during the opening period as the home side easily controlled the match.

With injuries during the initial 10 minutes of the second half Buckland had to bring two subs into the game. The flow of the match did not change and Gary Tanton drove home a shot from 18yds midway into the final period to give the home side an unassailable lead. Bucklands Manager had a smile on his face for the first time in several months as his team proved that they can play good football and win games.

Man of the Match: the whole team
