Match Report

The opening half ended with the scores level at one each as firstly a mistake by Bucklands keeper gifted the home side the lead on 15 minutes. Secondly the visitors equalised as a fine pass into the box from Simon Adams was slotted home by Vinny Bott on 25 minutes. The majority of the half was completely dominated by Buckland without a goal being scored, although Phil Short, Gary Tanton and Simon Adams all came close.

The second half saw Buckland once again playing the better football, but Landkeys direct style always looked like producing a goal. With substitutes Edward Jonckheere and new signing Ben Davey entering the game midway through the half Buckland continued to press forward, but could not score the all important second goal that would have settled the match. Landkey almost stunned the visitors on 30 minutes, as their centre forward lobbed the goalkeeper, who had strayed 25yds from goal. Luckily for Buckland the ball dropped just wide of the post. Several near misses by the visiting strikers during the final minutes could have sealed the game, but with the match deep into injury time Buckland had their goalkeeper sent off and two other players booked as frustrations and tempers began to flare.

Man of the Match: Gary Tanton (striker)
