Match Report
With regular keeper Danny Barnes away for the weekend, team manager John Adams once again had to don his gloves, but for the first time this season saw his team pick up their only victory to date. The game was evenly contested for the opening 20 minutes until Simon Adams latched onto a fine cross field ball and smashed the ball into the net from 15yds. Within minutes the same player won the ball on the wing and raced into the area before laying a pass across the goalmouth for Gary Tanton to knock in from close range. Just before half time Simon Adams added a third goal with a neat shot into the far corner of the net from 12yds.
Buckland dominated the first 30 minutes of the second half with further goals being scored by Steve Bennett, direct from a free kick just outside the box and Simon Adams completing his hat-trick following a powerful 25yd run and shot into the corner of the net. South Molton scored a consolation goal late in the game as a defensive lapse by Buckland allowed their opponents to score from close range with only minutes remaining.
